The 2010 Vine Wines and Pines is in the record books and boy it was a good time!

Thanks to everyone who participated, tough crowd!  You have to be a little bit more hard core run to run our race.  It is not crazy hard but if you are used to running on hard surface this one will drain you.  But we still had about 225 runners bring it and have a great time, as I said these are the tougher runners in the Subway Challenge series that tend to run this race.  The SubWay picnic followed with great food, live music and lots of good fun, and of course Maize Valley wine!  So check back next year looks like we will probably be doing it again on July 9th 2011!

Below are the details from the 2010 race much will be the same for 2011.

Join us in 2010 as we move our 5K event to July 10.  Registration starts at 3:30 race at 5:00 pm.  Click here for registration info. This was done so that we could host the "Stomp the Grapes" half marathon on November 6th 2010.

The Vines, Wines, and Pines 5K is a cross country, off road race that starts and finishes at Maize Valley Market & Winery.  The scenic course covers gravel drives, grass meadows, vineyards, and rows of Christmas trees.  We have made every attempt to make the trails as smooth as possible, however, there could be dips, rocks, sticks, or holes along the paths.  Runners should pay attention to the course as they run. 

Last year’s 5K run is now only a speck in our memories and we congratulate all who participated in the 2009 event.  It was a beautiful day, and the course was in great shape.  We had many positive comments from those who participated, so we’ve made it an annual event!

Thanks to the Marlington Cross Country team for all of their help on race day, and to Terry & Sally Lewis and their gang for taking care of the timing.

In 2008 we were able to donate $1300 to the Marlington Cross Country Program and we want to thank everyone who participated and helped make this a success.
