Celtic Festival
Have you ever seen a man in a kilt (skirt) throw a telephone pole? The 6th annual Celtic Festival occurs Saturday May 22, 2010 10:00 am to 6:00 p.m.
Step back in time to 18th century Scotland…enjoy visiting a village that emerges from the highland mists just once a year. Enjoy the taste of authentic Scottish foods, hear the pipers playing, watch dancers from Scotland and Wales as they perform jubilantly and perhaps invite you to take part. They'll show you how to "waulk" the wool and you can help.
Many vendors of Celtic goods will sell you wares from Scotland, Ireland and Wales. The athletes will demonstrate their prowess, casually tossing a telephone-pole-sized "caber" in the fields. The youngsters will be encouraged to try their own hand at this in the children's version of the events. Please visit www.beltanefestival.netfirms.com to learn more.
