Yea that's right, Only Maize Valley would have an Ohio Wine Called "MAD COW". Well here is another story. Once upon a time....(That way I don't keep saying "Back in the Day" too much), Maize Valley Holsteins was the name of our dairy farm. Steve, Michelle, Kay and Donna worked the dairy farm. Steve was in charge of the cows, Kay did the crops, and Donna and Michelle took care of the calves and such. Over the years you have cows that get to be like family. Number 38, old Edith, was one of those. She was one heck of good ole' girl. She set all kinds of production records and had lots of calves that were good producers as well.
Now cows are sort of like people, they all have different personalities. Cinnamon (Steve's favorite) was a friendly cow. He took her to shows and she milked good too. But Edith, no, not her. She was a great milker, but not a really people person, er, cow. The days of milking cows at Maize Valley are in the past but that is no reason not to say "Thank you" to our past because the cows helped build the business we have today. Don't worry though, this wine is friendly and fun to drink, but who would remember a wine called "Friendly Cow"?? $8.99
